Saas-Grund lies at the heart of the Saas Valley at 1500 metres above sea-level. The gondola-lift takes you up to the lovely mountain scenery at Kreuzboden (2400 m) and Hohsaas (3100 m).

Saas-Grund has an attractive and varied range of snow sports activities for its visitors to enjoy.

35 km of ski-pistes, lovely winter hiking paths, a natural and an artificial skating rink and an 11 km-long sledging trail.

Cross-country skiing enthusiasts can ski a total of 26 km of cross-country trails here either in the direction of Saas-Balen or Saas-Almagell.

The sunny Kreuzboden-Hohsaas ski area with guaranteed snow and easy wide pistes for beginners as well as challenging glacier skiing slopes for good skiers affords a unique view of the 18 four-thousand-meters peaks of the Saas Valley, the highest mountains in Switzerland.

Kreuzboden is the ideal starting place for undertaking the legendary Saas high-altitude trails (e.g. Gspon or Almagelleralp) and the Jägihorn via ferrata. The alpine flower walk with its 250 different species of flowers also begins here.

Kreuzboden itself has a large number of attractions. You will find "Hohsi-Land" here with its many different games for children and a small zoo. Make a detour to the Kreuzboden Lake, which is a famous and favourite place to take photographs with the Mischabel chain in the background.

If you want to go higher up, it is best to take the gondola-lift to Hohsaas. You have the most spectacular view of the mountains from here.
