The Castle of Turn-of-Peilz was initially a checkpoint, then an observatory of the lake traffic on the Lake Léman (in English: Geneva Lake) and customs. Destroyed during the wars of Burgundy in 1476, it was bought and rebuilt in 1747 per Jean Grésier, French officer.
In 1973, the two turns of angle, the surrounding, the ramparts and the ditches were classified historic buildings.
The castle was bought in 1979 by the commune of La Tour-de-Peilz and receives, since 1987, the Swiss Museum of the Play on the first floor. Rooms of the ground floor being reserved for various manifestations.
